As a little girl on a trip to Texas to see family at Christmas, I was thrilled to see my first fireflies.  At first just a few, and then, they seemed to fill the night in front of the car's headlights.  It was amazing the way the shining little little lights danced in the headlights and then it appeared as though we were being engulfed by a swarm!  A dear friend had a similar experience when he awoke to a surprise and ran to tell his parents about the pretty white carpet someone had placed in their yard.....You guessed it, both were "first snow" experiences.

What God has created is amazing and even now when snow falls, I feel the child-like wonder rise up in me again.  I want to skip and run from window to window to see it and declare - It's snowing!

Give thanks to the LORD of lords, for His lovingkindness is everlasting.  To Him who alone does great wonders, for His lovingkindness is everlasting; to Him who made the heavens with skill, for His lovingkindness is everlasting; To Him who spread out the earth above the waters...who made the great lights...the sun to rule by day...and the moon and stars to rule by night, for His lovingkindness is everlasting.  Psalm 136:3-9

Enjoy this day... with thanksgiving and purpose!

Joy Joy Joy - Live Life with Gusto

I read a great story. I think it's who I aspire to be...tee hee.... about a 63 year old woman who had been found (after five days) stranded on a river, her little inflatible fishing boat stuck to debri from a storm. Her son's comment to a reporter a day or two after she went missing was that "she's probably out somewhere she shouldn't be." And sure enough, in his opinion, she had been - out by herself fishing on the river. I admire her tenacity and spirit. She was a bit weather worn and dehydrated but was fully recovering and I'll bet she'd be so fun to know. I wonder if she used to have a partner in crime (like Lucy had Ethel).

I can think of many an adventure with friends or family where we laughed so hard at our predicament that we could not stand or in one case I remember, see for the tears from laughing so hard. I hope you can, even now, cite one of those times and revel in the joy of it. It's the same joy, I believe we can bring to this world every day...the same joy that I pray you experience from God.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

So, as this day unfolds - reflect - enjoy and project the joy of this life in the midst of it all.

Here I Am Before You Lord

There is so much activity around me these days, sometimes I feel as though I'm in the midst of a whirlwind of good news, uncertainty, tragedy, mishaps and great delights and hillarity. This week has been a mixed bag for certain! Weeks like these leave me seeking a block of time to simply spend on my knees in worship and communion - sorrow, joy - a heart's cry.

"And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead." Revelation 1:17

During times of deep worship it is as though I've touched His garment in the crowd and His peace, joy, love and life have washed over me. I pray this for you today. May you experience a new level of worship, peace, joy and life today as you seek His face.

I hope this helps:http://www.godtube.com/watch/?v=DY667GNX
